On MSNBC I found a rather interesting article I had to share. This article is titled "Obama: The People Of Egypt Have Spoken." This short, but POWERFUL article speaks on the trials and tribulations Egypt has gone through and how they as people have overcome it. Marking the historic end to the three-decade long presidency of Egypt's Hosni Mubarak is something President Obama says has inspired the world by their peaceful protests for their universal rights. Not only did the Egyptians fight for what they wanted, but did so in such a dignified way. In Egypt it was the moral force of non violence, not terrorism, not mindless killing, but non violence. This article has truly shown me that we as people DO have the power to change things, but too often we feel overwhelmed and step back. If these people can change something so huge with just their moral force, can you imagine what we also can change in our own lives, others lives, and the US as a whole ??? I feel this article is one that everyone should read. It will give you not only the insight of what is happening in another country to boost your worldly knowledge, but also possibly give you that push you have been needing in your own life, someone else's life, or to help light that fire inside of you that wants to help change the US. The possibilities are endless!!! Obama ended comparing the events in Egypt to the fall of the Berlin Wall and quoted Martin Luther King, saying that Egypt reminds us, "There's something in the soul that cries out for freedom."
