“The grim joke of every actuary is that if people die earlier, you sure save a lot of money.”

The article I found quite interesting is one in the Washington Times titled, "Obamacare's race against the cures." I feel the author is directing this article to all Americans, with emphasis on those chronically ill or in need of surgery. The author goes on to show how the Obamacare will make the situation in health care worse then it is now. I went into reading this article with an open mind and decided to dissect each main argument the author was making to see how I felt about it. There were a few things said that really got to me, and it started to lean my opinion on this article in a very substantial way. One of these statements made that impacted my decision, was one that a man by the name of Mr. Pinkerton made to Washington Times, stating “The whole ethos is to spend less on health care costs, while cures and medical outcomes are much less important to the political culture.” Are you serious ?!?! You want to put seeking out cures and medical outcomes on the lower end of the spectrum, why?!?! Who is the one saying these things, and why do we as Americans who deal with this bull crap health care get a say in anything? This statement here by Mr. Pinkerton as well really had me thinking and I feel this is just what our government is thinking, “The grim joke of every actuary is that if people die earlier, you sure save a lot of money.” I mean why would we need cures if Americans die off, especially the ones with cancer and other devastating diseases. It just sickens me and I agree whole heartedly with this author in everything he has said about this "Obamacare" and I feel if things continue the way the uppers want it, we are in for a real bumpy ride.

On MSNBC I found a rather interesting article I had to share. This article is titled "Obama: The People Of Egypt Have Spoken." This short, but POWERFUL article speaks on the trials and tribulations Egypt has gone through and how they as people have overcome it. Marking the historic end to the three-decade long presidency of Egypt's Hosni Mubarak is something President Obama says has inspired the world by their peaceful protests for their universal rights. Not only did the Egyptians fight for what they wanted, but did so in such a dignified way. In Egypt it was the moral force of non violence, not terrorism, not mindless killing, but non violence. This article has truly shown me that we as people DO have the power to change things, but too often we feel overwhelmed and step back. If these people can change something so huge with just their moral force, can you imagine what we also can change in our own lives, others lives, and the US as a whole ??? I feel this article is one that everyone should read. It will give you not only the insight of what is happening in another country to boost your worldly knowledge, but also possibly give you that push you have been needing in your own life, someone else's life, or to help light that fire inside of you that wants to help change the US. The possibilities are endless!!! Obama ended comparing the events in Egypt to the fall of the Berlin Wall and quoted Martin Luther King, saying that Egypt reminds us, "There's something in the soul that cries out for freedom."
